ITR Laboratories is pleased to announce the publication of a new scientific article by members of our pathology team.
The publication, “Hemangiosarcomas in Intercostal Brown Adipose Tissues of the Sternum Induced by Urethane in TgrasH2 Mice,” was authored by Maodong Zhang, Predrag Novakovic, Joseph Younan, and Lev Kolodzieyski.
In urethane-treated Tg.rasH2 mice used for carcinogenicity studies, hemangiosarcomas were frequently detected not only in the spleen and lungs but also in intercostal sternal brown adipose tissue, where they represented the third most common tumor site. These findings underscore the importance of careful tissue collection and histopathological evaluation of brown adipose tissue in preclinical carcinogenicity studies utilizing this model.
