-Animal enrichment, Acclimation, socialization and other related programs;
-Ensure that the ITR enrichment programs are running as per established procedures;
-Coordinates training activities with the technical group trainers, vet services group and other trainers from other departments;
– Promotes a humane and caring attitude toward all animals, in coordination with the technical group;
-As a member of the training group, works closely with Veterinary Services Director in selecting the appropriate training methods or activities (i.e. simulations, mentoring, shadowing. etc.).
-Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
– Ensure the refinement, safety and efficacy of animal handling, restraint & enrichment in coordination with ITR scientific and technical staff;
-Prepare and present information on animal behavior and enrichment for training purposes;
-Assist veterinary service in term of behavioral assessment and correction as assigned;
-Perform other related tasks;
Ability to maintain a professional, positive attitude and multitask in a high-paced, reactive environment;
Autonomous, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, along with superior organizational skills;
Bilingual English and French, excellent communication skills in English both written and oral;
Proven work experience as a Trainer or similar role is an asset;
Proven work experience in environmental enrichment and/or behavioral assessment is an asset
MS Office proficiency
Conditions: Permanent, day-time, full-time (37.5 hr/week)
